The St. James’s Place “Barbury International” will play a critical role in the build up to this year’s Olympic Equestrian Games being one of the last opportunities to see the top nations in action on home soil, as they prepare for Hong Kong a month later.

It will offer an action packed programme of world class horse trials, more equestrian events and more spectator attractions than ever before. All this is presented on a new web site which has been designed so that visitors can quickly find what interests them most - whether it’s the family attractions, the corporate promotional opportunities or competition information for riders. New at Barbury this year will be:

A wider range of family attractions including Bungee jumping, Quad bikes and more trade stands. Favourites returning are the climbing wall, dog agility, bouncy castle and facepainting.

More competitions including a new CIC** eventing class, a Burghley Loddon Young Event Horse Class (which culminates in the Final at Burghley in September) and a Hunt Scurry.

A new official charity for 2008 - The Mark Davies Injured Riders Fund, whose patron is Zara Phillips - the only national charity to assist those injured in horse related accidents, whoever the rider or handler and whether at home or in competitions.

Admission prices range from £6 to £15 per person depending on the day (children under 12 go free).   Limited availability means advance booking is particularly recommended for Members Enclosure badges (£10; with lunches from £28 per person), 3 day season ticket discounts and Picnic Parking places.  To book tickets and for further details/timetable, visit www.barburyhorsetrials.co.uk or call the Barbury Box Office on 01793-877212.  Once a month, all those registering on the site will have the opportunity to win one of three pairs of Admission Tickets with Members Upgrade badges for Sunday 6 July.

Press Enquiries ONLY: Sandy Thwaites, Barbury International Press Office, 01793-710610 (07738-023837) or media@barburyhorsetrials.co.uk. Photos are available to download on the media pages at www.barburyhorsetrials.co.uk

Welcome to al fresco dining at Woody’s cafe. From Thursday 3rd July (and every Thursday and Friday after that) Woody’s will be open from 6.30pm serving delicious seasonal homemade meals.

You can rest assured of high quality and incredibly fresh seasonal ingredients, with most coming from our own fields or at least locally grown or reared. We will offer two courses with a choice of main meal and dessert, including a selection of locally produced cheeses.

What’s more we’ll invite you to select your own wine, beer or cider from our farm shop shelves (no extortionate restaurant prices here!). We’ll also recommend a specific red and white wine to accompany the dishes on offer each week in the cafe. And if you’re driving then why not take a bottle home to enjoy after your meal.

To book a table please call 01672 852114. There really is no better way to spend a summer evening than with simple good food, great company and relaxing surroundings.

We look forward to welcoming you soon.

Marlborough International Jazz Festival was founded in 1986. It features on Tower Records' list of the top events of its kind in the British Isles. As well as individual concerts, a major feature is the "Stroller". These are tickets that enable the holder to see a large number of bands in over 20 locations on Friday evening from 6pm and Saturday from before 12 noon until after midnight.
Bands range from famous touring stars - and many of the home-grown variety - to young and up-and-coming groups. Over the years we have built our reputation on booking bands that are on the way to the top and these return year after year.

There are many new and exciting courses available in 2008, which run alongside the perennial favourites. Courses run from Monday until Friday each week and offer flexibility in choice between a full day, two half days or simply coming for the mornings or afternoons alone. The scope and breadth of the courses is unusually wide and designed for both adults and young people. We aim to satisfy all ages, interests and abilities and it is because we offer so much, to so many, that we boast a programme that truly has "Something for Everyone".

Thank Woody’s it’s Friday! Our new weekly ‘Terrific Tea Club’ is launched on Friday 20th June.

Bring the children for a high tea treat of a seasonal, locally produced and homemade meal with plenty of fun thrown in! It will take place every Friday and all starts from 4.15pm with tea served at 5.15pm.

Just how much fun can we pack in?? To start with collect your bowl and pick your own fruity pudding, not forgetting to say hello to the pigs, ducks, chickens and rabbit. Come back inside for a tasty homemade meal and a drink before you savour the flavour of your hand picked pud! Then why not finish off with a gallop around the play equipment. (This is the point that mums or dads get to drink that well deserved cup of tea in peace.)

Our menu will change weekly but will always include a sausage dish made from our own home-reared porkers and a seasonal fresh vegetable pasta dish. Booking will be essential – please phone Woodys direct on 01672 852114. Price per child’s meal, to include a drink and balloon £5.95.

What better way to celebrate the end of the week!
