Jacqueline Burns

My name is Roy Bhatia I am 31 years old, originally from Bolton in Lancashire and currently living in Swindon.

I have worked in the optical industry for the last 13 years. I began my career as a qualified dispensing optician; I then progressed to qualify as a contact lens optician and worked extensively throughout the UK, providing contact lens clinics for many of the larger companies. I moved to Wiltshire around three years ago to work as an optometrist, which I enjoy immensely.

Whilst working for some of the large chain opticians, I found there simply wasn’t always the time to provide quality eye care, consequently the whole process sometimes appeared a little rushed and impersonal. One of the reasons I opened my own practice is to provide my patients with a high standard of eye care. With the prevalence of age related eye diseases such as glaucoma, diabetic eye disease and Macular degeneration set to increase, the eye examination has never been so important.
