Situated opposite St. Peters church at the far end of the high street, Marlborough Oriental Rug Gallery was established in the picturesque market town of Marlborough in the spring of 2008. The Gallery owner, Matthew Thomas, has developed a knowledge and passion for Oriental Rugs over several years and as such has great appreciation for their origins and the rich design qualities they bring to any interior. We will offer a large selection of handmade oriental rugs, carpets and furnishings in many sizes from the cities to the villages of Persia, Afghanistan, Turkey, Pakistan, India and other countries. Our aim is to bring unique and highly desirable products to the Marlborough area, all competitively priced where high quality and good value are paramount.

Being an independent retailer we are able to offer a bespoke service that larger chains cannot offer their clientele. We take great care in personally selecting our stock from international importers or direct from the country of origin and have further stocks to source from should we need to enhance our client’s buying experience.

Whether you visit the shop or the website, you can browse at will, ask for help and advice, take home to ‘try before you buy’ and for very large carpets (over 9’x6’), we can usually arrange help getting the carpets home. All we ask is that items not purchased are returned to us within 3 days, unused.

We also stock a selection of beautifully crafted kilim covered cushions, stools and ottomans and unusual tribal bags and hangings.
